About This Spot

Stepping into The Caves feels like entering a hidden retreat where every detail invites you to slow down and savor the moment. Nestled in Edgewater, this space balances the warmth of a neighborhood café with the curious charm of an art-inspired hideaway. Soft candlelight flickers against cave-like walls, while sculptural accents and textured murals create an intimate setting that feels both deliberate and effortlessly welcoming.

The pace here is unhurried, encouraging conversations to meander as freely as the music playing softly in the background. Whether you come for a quiet coffee, a leisurely dessert with friends, or a small celebration in the garden lounge, the atmosphere gently adapts—comfortable yet refined, familiar yet subtly intriguing.

Food at The Caves unfolds as part of the experience rather than a mere transaction. Think of sharing a Mediterranean platter that sparks moments of conversation, or indulging in a “Forbidden Brownie Seduction” that settles in like a well-kept secret. Fresh, thoughtfully prepared vegetarian options sit alongside heartier dishes, each plate inviting a sense of discovery rather than simply filling a hunger.

Community and connection quietly pulse through the space. Whether it’s a birthday marked by a special dessert, an anniversary dinner framed by soft lighting and calm music, or a casual weekend coffee, the staff’s genuine care makes the experience feel personal and unhurried. This is a place that gently encourages returning, where familiar faces meet new ones under the shared banner of good food, thoughtful ambiance, and the subtle joy of being present.

We had such a wonderful time at Caves in Edgewater! Before our visit, Faith was incredibly kind and helpful over the phone and when I stopped by in person — her warm and attentive attitude truly stood out. Although she wasn’t there during our visit, the rest of the staff made us feel welcome. The service was pleasant, and the dessert made my friend’s birthday feel extra special. We left with happy hearts and big smiles — such a lovely experience overall!

For my birthday, I decided to celebrate at The Cave Restaurant in Edgewater, NJ, and let me tell you it did not disappoint! From the moment we walked in, the aesthetic and ambiance were everything. The candlelight on each table, the cave-inspired walls, and the beautiful sculptures and wall art all created such a relaxing, romantic vibe. The atmosphere was classy but cozy, perfect for date nights or special occasions. For drinks, I ordered the Wild Berry Lemonade and my boyfriend went with the Baja Blast. That lemonade was so good I had to get a second one! For our appetizer, we tried the cheesy nachos super flavorful, warm, and crispy. For entrées, he got the House Burger (served with chips and coleslaw), and I went with the Cilantro Chicken Quesadilla with sour cream and salsa on the side. When I say that quesadilla was packed with flavor… whew, a 10/10! And that coleslaw? I’m not even a coleslaw person, but theirs changed my whole mind it was that good. The portion sizes were generous, so I even had leftovers to take home. The service was just as amazing as the food. Our server was friendly, attentive, and checked in on us multiple times. The restaurant offers complimentary valet parking, which was a nice bonus, and the location itself is perfect surrounded by other restaurants and a great overall vibe. As a TikTok Foodie content creator (@TaliyaBBeauty) I have to say this is easily one of my top dining experiences in New Jersey so far. The Cave is beautiful, affordable, and worth every penny our total was only about $70 for two entrées, an appetizer, and multiple drinks. Highly recommend for birthdays, date nights, or any celebration.

An Edgewater staple- romantic and magical atmosphere- while the menu could stand to be updated- the portions are substantial , there are plenty of vegetarian options, it’s fresh and does the job. Great for desserts and drinks and noshes. A perfect place for an intimate experience with friends, loved ones or for getting to know someone. BYOB. I brought my daughter here for her 9th birthday and the staff went above and beyond! Specifically our server Faith who was super kind, attentive and communicative. The service was prompt and the food came out quickly!

This is a nice and authentic place for a nice cozy dinner. Me and my wife had our anniversary dinner here. It was great. Food specially desserts are delicious. Atmosphere is great and music is calm and nice. Service was okay. You are barely able to see the servers. Food came fast. I asked for house salad with my burger. They brought chips instead even though it was on the receipt as house salad. We were not able to tell server to replace it since they did not come to check on us if everything was okay. Well, willing to come again. Still a nice place and different experience.

We celebrated our wedding anniversary at The Cave and had such an amazing time! The vibe there was super cool something we hadn’t experienced before and it really made the night special. The food was really good too, and we enjoyed everything. There was a small mixup with our order, but the staff fixed it quickly, which was nice. Overall, it was a great experience and a night to remember. So glad we chose The Cave for our celebration!

First time at the caves, we went for desserts after dinner to celebrate an early birthday. The desserts are massive and definitely can be shared among 2-3 people. We got a regular and a deluxe, not much of a difference in size. The cappuccino was nice, strong and delicious . We will be coming back to try the food.
